SKU · 4 weeks or retainer
Extract one hot path into Elixir or Go. Leave the rest of the company alone.
Four weeks to pull a realtime, payments, or concurrency-critical node out of Python or Ruby and into Elixir or Go. €12,000 (50% up front) or €3,000/mo with a three-month minimum.
The wound
The node that takes the traffic — lobby, matching, payments, fan-out, live board — is still in a request/response stack that was never built for 10k concurrent users. Rewriting the product is a year. Pulling the hot path is a month.
Rescue (4 weeks)
€12,000
50% to start, 50% at week-4 demo. Written SOW required.
Realtime retainer
€3,000/mo
Monthly in advance, three-month minimum. Capacity for the same class of work, not a blank cheque.
Cap: two concurrent retainers studio-wide. Written SOW. No handshake starts.
Four-week Rescue
Week 1
Trace the hot path, agree the API/websocket contract, freeze scope in writing. If the path is not isolatable in five days, we stop and you keep the deposit unused beyond that week’s work.
Week 2
Build the replacement behind a feature flag. Same external contract. Load script on the new node, not on production users.
Week 3
Shadow traffic, then switch. Rollback is a flag, not a prayer. We do not invent features on the side.
Week 4
Runbook, dashboards, on-call notes for your team. Demo of p99 and error budget vs the old node.

Questions
Because you have a business to run. Rescue is one node, four weeks, a flag, and a number. A rewrite is a different company.
Elixir or Go — whichever matches the job and your team’s ability to own it. Seventeen years of poker engines and fintech gateways is the proof, not the religion.
We say so in writing. You do not pay the second 50%. You pay for the week of instrumentation you already received.
Rescue (4 weeks) €12,000 · Realtime retainer €3,000/mo. Written SOW. 100% up front unless the offer says otherwise.
